Brighton continues to rage havoc in the premier league after seeing Sunderland away 2 0 in the premier league fixture yesterday.
The game was as tightly as expected but for a team that had scored the most goals in this season it was a shame to go to half time level.
Both teams though did come close as both of them had a chance at the woodwork before halftime.
Sunderland’s Isidor was the first to hit the post as his effort from a perfect cross hit the post at an impossible angle.
Right before halftime Brighton also came close through a free header that curled towards the inside of the post only to hit the post.
In the second half Brighton also had a couple of chances but they could not capitalize, but as they continued knocking, they were rewarded as pascal Gross played in De Cuyper who slotted on to give Brighton the lead.
Moments later Brighton’s center back was shown red after VAR intervention on a foul on Isidor which was deemed a denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Sunderland kept pushing for the equalizer which was not to come as they were kept out by a solid Brighton defense.
In the closing stages of the game Sunderland were caught napping with a brilliant counter attack that saw the ball in the back of the net from another fullback Hadjam.
